Look-A-Likes: Man vs. Food vs. Clooney

I was on twitter and saw the profile picture for Man vs Food host Adam Richman (@adamrichman). As soon as I saw it I thought about George Clooney. [Random thought...Remember when George Clooney was on Facts of Life?] Adam is really serving some Clooney in his pic. I think they are both good-looking men in their own right. Let me know what you think.

Is it odd that my favorite food shows are on the Travel Channel? I hope not...because I'm a huge Man vs. Food fan. It's one of those shows you start watching and the next thing you know you have watched 3 hours of other people eating. If you are a fan of Adam, pick up his new book: America the Edible: A Hungry History, from Sea to Dining Sea - By Adam Richman.

Here is a few of his upcoming appearances for the book tour:

Grill Em' All Takes Over NYC

This weekend is the Grill Em' All Truck Victory Lap NYC tour. They are the winners of The Great American Food Truck Race on the Food Network.

I got my burger! Yes, the burger I was dreaming about...The Behemoth (pic on the left). It was meaty cheesy goodness. They use 2 grilled cheese sandwiches as buns (Genius!!)...then add smoked cheddar, applewood smoked bacon and beer soaked onions. YUM!! I had the Waste Em' All burger the night before. The marinated green chilies gave the burger an amazing smoky taste. So good!!

I have to mention the delicious Double Dipped Frites with truffle oil (pic on the right). You have to get the these!! And don't forget the chipotle ketchup. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get a craving for these frites. Road Trip! When I go to L.A. you know my first stop will be the Grill Em' All Truck!!

They have more stops today and tomorrow. Get a burger before they leave New York and head back to L.A. Check out burgerconquest.com for all the info. and follow the guys on twitter @GrillEmAllTruck.

Sprite Step Off -- on TV and approaching ATL!

Check it out -- I'm posted on a site that used to have print product! My day-job stalled on posting it so we took the post on the road. A friend and I went to the Central Region leg of the Sprite Step Off in Chicago a while back and had a blast. Ludacris brought the house down, while Wale... well... I love the album! I didn't realize that "All The Way Turnt Up" by Roscoe Dash ft. Soulja Boy was tha jam or that Trey Songz's "Say Aah" had certified banga status until that night. I also didn't realize that my post was relevant to this site until I discovered the Sprite Step Off mini-series airing on MTV2.

The reality/documentary is hosted (but they really mean narrated) by Ludacris and follows 3 fraternities & 3 Sororities in the Southwest (ex. Texas) and Southeast (ex. Florida & Georgia) regions on their path to win Nationals. Ultimately, it's like a 3 hour True Life episode-- annoyingly split up into parts. Of course there is a non-African-American sorority in the fold, so it's guaranteed to be hater-rific.

Much love to the event planners for the Sprite Step Off. They had their shit together! You can find the tour on twitter and the remaining regional competitions are selling out! Act quick to get your ticket for Nationals in Atlanta on February 20th! As for the TV show, tune into MTV2, Sundays at 3pm for new episodes. It's only one episode deep, so jump right in.

Happy 2010!!

Happy New Year!!!

I'm preparing for the New Year by getting my snacks together for an evening of watching the ball drop from the comfort of my snuggie.

Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2010 (10 PM ET on ABC) and New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin (10PM ET on CNN). Anderson and Kathy will be tweeting live from Time Square. That should be interesting! I'm sure Kathy isn't going to hold anything back on her twitter page. I'm wondering how many shades of red Kathy will make Anderson's face turn this year. If you want to follow Anderson @andersoncooper and Kathy @kathygriffin.

Just wanted to thank everyone for supporting us @SpoilTheEnding. Looking forward to the future. See you next year!!

I'm Ready To "Follow The Model"

Tuesday (11/10/09) was the book release for America's Next Top Model judge "Miss J" Alexander. I expected the room to be filled with Top Model wannabes but that wasn't the case. There was a lot of love in the room from the ANTM fans to his friend and family. The book is "Follow the Model: Miss J's Guide to Unleashing Presence, Poise, and Power." The ultimate runway diva is giving us a peek inside his background and tips for the readers. Miss J gives you humor even when talking about serious subject matters.

I had the pleasure of attending the book signing in New York City. Miss J's Tip for Women: NO Monkey Paws. In other words, if your feet look like paws keep them covered. Big Girl Tip: Stay away from colors like canary yellow. Think he was referring to the Big Bird effect. Miss J doesn't workout in a gym to kept those legs looking tight...he just walks a lot. All the more reason for me not to go to the gym. Someone asked him who he thought was the worst designer. He said anyone that doesn't know how to sew or takes the time to wear panties calling themselves a designer. No name was given but the first person that came to my mind was Lindsey Lohan. But a few people come to mind on the non-sewing end and calling themselves designers. He considered it to be insult to the all the students in design schools and the people that work hard at their craft. I was surprised that no one asked him about reviling that he is a father on the Tyra Show. Miss J is saving some stories for his second book. Let's just say he had a business mind at age 10.

You see a little of Miss J's personality on ANTM...but in person baby...he doesn't hold anything back. I can appreciate that where others may find it harsh. I felt like a student in a classroom (A Fabulous Classroom!!). I was studying everything. He told the crowd to be "True To Yourself." I found myself taking mental notes on what I should be doing. I'm a work in progress (give me some time). As I got my book signed the conversation quickly was about my name. First question - Who is Japanese in my family? And since my name reminds most people of a dessert...I think it just made him hungry.

But Miss J wasn't the only reality star at the event. James Campbell, from Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane, is now working with Miss J. James was the Senior Marketing Director at Baby Phat. No matter what Kimora throw at him, he made it happen. Thank You James...for showing someone on a reality show that worked hard and was good at their job. Another familiar face from Kimora's show was Jerome. He was the designer that was tasked to work with Ming and Aoki on their clothing line during the show. I added this clip from Life In The Fab Lane because Miss J and James are in it working on the Phat Farm/Baby Phat fashion show.

Video: Ju-Taun Concert

I posted this video of Ju-Taun awhile back on the Spoil The Ending facebook fan page. It's from their performance at the Singersroom.com event. They performed 2 amazing songs for the crowd. Backstage the guys were so cool and funny. It was great meeting them!!

People are always asking me, "What's up with Ju-Taun?" I finally figured out a way to describe them. Imagine a super group of all the hottest male singers today...that's Ju-Taun. They give you a little Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Mario, Trey Songz and some Day26 all rolled up into one super group. These guys are very talented (and fine...just had to throw that in for my girl Davina). Can't wait to go to another concert!!!
