"Are You Serious America?"

Drama in the Dance World must be contagious. If you thought So You Think You Can Dance was dramatic, America's Best Dance Crew didn't disappoint either. This week was very "Stomp" inspired. All the crews had to make their own beats as the added challenge. Fanny Pak had the curse of going first as a PE class. It was cute they all had personalities-- Matt was even in a fat suit. I give them points for having yester-decade's, pull-out posters of Mario Lopez and JC on the lockers! Their routine seemed to start of the night well but it gets lost in the drama of the night. JC got boo-ed for pointing out that the girls' jump ropes were not in sync (not a pun!). SoReal Cru played as the school band, and pulled off some true detail. Ailyn's (/EYE-LEEN/) parents flew in to see her perform. Good thing they were not there for last week. I believe JC got boo-ed again for something. The audience was being a little tacky. The kicker came when Boogie Bots were announced as safe over Super Cr3w. One the members of Super Cr3w was looking toward the screen yelling "WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!" I was doing the same thing. Boogie Bots were actually pretty good though. They had rough moments, but so did Fanny and SoReal. They had a Flashdance ending-pose which was cute, but I don't think it would have saved them from elimination if they were in the bottom. Again JC was boo-ed for making sense followed with his now trademark response, "oh, here we go."

Down to the main event--
Supreme Soul vs. Super Cr3w! Never thought they would have to battle. I mean maybe at some event in the future-- I'd pay to see that. Both crews were just crazy. They both did some crazy, brilliant shit. I had to watch the immediate rerun because I was just so confused with them being in the bottom I couldn't focus on their routines. The comments were the best part. Shane was practically speechless. Lil Mama stayed too real for TV! She looks at the camera, "ARE YOU SERIOUS AMERICA? ARE YOU SERIOUS?" Hi-larious. I couldn't stop laughing, but it was intensely tense! Do-Knock was tearing up. Hell everybody was welling up, catching emotions in their own way. All of this happens just an hour after watching Twitch and Will getting emotional on SYTYCD. What is going on with voting technology in LA? We need to fix this before November! Good dancers getting punished left and right last night.

Finally, Supreme Soul was sent home. They really caught some bad luck in the competition. They were our pick to win it. Looks like Super Cr3w has to rep more than just the B-boys from now on. The Youtube That Shit award goes to Supreme Soul vs. Super Cr3w with the critique! You just can't get the full effect for how epic it was without it. Next week is a Missy Elliott challenge, I hope they find better songs than Get Cha Freak On!

Shocking Results on SYTYCD!

"WHAT?!" was all Mark could say after finding out that he was safe last night on So You Think You Can Dance. I was saying the same thing. I thought for sure he was going home, despite him being the love of my life. Even so, the strangeness didn't stop there. Twitch and Will were the bottom two male dancers even though they got the best reviews Wednesday night. I have two theories to explain this situation. One- the typical I-won't-vote-for-them-because-they-are-safe theory that everyone assumes. Two- Mark and Joshua got loyal fans really early in the game as they were among the first couples to blow America away with Tabitha and Napoleon's (emotional) hip hop routines. At this point, I think America finds the top 8 dancers as adorable and likable people, its just that Joshua and Mark got there quicker than Twitch and Will. In the end, it was Will who joined Comfort as this weeks bottom two dancers. I hope Mark doesn't waste too much time feeling guilty for whatever reason. America likes you, so dance your ass off. Want to see more Will and Comfort? Then see them on tour!

On different note, LL Cool J and The-Dream performed LL's new single, Baby (clip below). I actually liked the performance. I hate when people go on SYTYCD and don't have back up dancers or dance themselves. LL was smart. He had 6 or 8 girls working it behind him. It was like Soul Train for a second. Good job LL!

Good Show, Top 8!

The dancers put on a really good show last night on So You Think You Can Dance. Mark and Comfort's foxtrot was the only dance to fall short. Tony Basil was the guest judge and she was all about "the streets," and she loved her some Twitch. All the dances were great, but for simplicity I'll list the ones I liked the most.

Will & Courtney
-- Hip Hop/Tabitha & Napoleon Dumo -- "Like You'll Never See Me Again" Alicia Keys

Twitch & Katee
-- Contemporary/Mia Michaels -- "Mercy" Duffy

Mark & Comfort -- Hip Hop/Tabitha & Napoleon Dumo -- "Party People" Nelly ft. Fergie

Joshua & Chelsea
-- Disco/Doriana Sanchez -- "Everlasting Love" Gloria Estefan

Solos: Courtney & Twitch

Tune in tonight to see who stays to dance another week!

Webisodes: The New Frontier

Webisodes and other forms of made-for-Internet shows have been thrown in my face lately. So I'm taking the time to pass on the word.

Heroes -- NBC's Monday night hit drama currently features two approx. 3 min webisodes following a postman's run in with "the company." The reason to watch: it features all new characters, new powers, and it wouldn't hurt to get a little more Heroes in you life after not seeing it in over 6 months!

If Looks Could Kill -- This series follows a fashionista named Bianca and the twists in her life after stumbling on to clues about her absent father/CIA agent! There are interactive moments between chapters for you to give Bianca clues on where she should go next, which I could see putting people off from the show-- but can't fault them for trying. The reason to watch: You've just watched Project Runway reruns and you kind of miss Alias.

We Need Girlfriends -- Even though I knew about this show for months, I still haven't seen it yet. However, it's my understanding that this show is a straight forward comedy about three (i assume dorky) guys in NYC and their trials and errors of being single and dating. The reason to watch: this show has gotten so much critic attention that it is in the works of becoming a network television show. Not bad for something you might find on YouTube.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-ALong Blog -- This has gotten a lot of play in the geek world because it is created by Joss Whedon (who is also the man behind Buffy- the tv series). The times to see it for free on the site have passed, but you can download it on iTunes until July 29th. After that you have to wait until it is released for DVD. The reason to watch: Neil Patrick Harris starring as a mad scientist.

More New York...Soon

Our favorite reality show diva, New York, heads for the bright lights of Hollywood. Her new show is called New York Goes To Hollywood.

She is living her dream to become a real actor. I was checking ILoveReality.org to see some of the pics from the promo shoot. VH1 has been running ads with New York dressed as Marilyn Monroe and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. The 30-minute show is set to debut August 4th on VH1.

The Moment of Truth for Wendy

I just spent way too much time clipping the Wendy Williams show today. But I know there are a lot of people that can't see the show. I watch the show and TiVo it at the same time. So I know if I couldn't see it I would want to have someone looking out for me.

Mark Walberg, from Moment Of Truth, was on the show today. Check out the clip below to see what Wendy thinks about her radio partner Charlamagne, Tyra and Oprah.

I Want To Work For Diddy

Here is the commercial for the new show I Want To Work For Diddy. You know Diddy is going to push the contestants to the limits. I love watching people suffer on reality shows. The show premieres August 4th @ 9PM EST on VH1.

First Diddy and Now Aubrey's on Broadway

Spotted this clip on BadBoyBlog.com, it's of Aubrey O'Day's (from Danity Kane) first night on Broadway. She is playing Amber Von Tussle in the musical "Hairspray."

There are a few other familiar faces currently starring in the musical with Aubrey. Ashley Parker Angel (playing Link Larkin) was discovered in the first season of "Making The Band" and had his own MTV series "There and Back." You remember the group O-Town. George Wendt (playing Edna Turnblad) is best known to television audiences as Norm Peterson from “Cheers.” Tevin Campbell (playing Seaweed J. Stubbs) gained fame as an R&B singer at age 13 with his first album, collaborated with Prince and Quincy Jones.

Golden Girl Estelle Getty Passes

Estelle Getty, best known for her role as Sophia Petrillo on the Golden Girls, died today (July 22, 2008) at the age of 84. The Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor passed away at her L.A. home from natural causes. She was only 3 days way from her 85th birthday.

Estelle had Lewy Body Dementia. Lewy Body symptoms are very similar to both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. She was an amazing actor and will live on in all our hearts.

Put That Where...Back There

Vivica A. Fox dropped by the Wendy Williams Show. Both ladies wearing cocktail dresses with glasses of Nuvo sitting on the table. Daytime TV never looked like this.

Vivica talked about her new show Glam God and a little bit of everything else.
"Glam God with Vivica A. Fox" will search for the next great celebrity stylist. The show will premiere on VH1 in August. Check out the interview below.

We Have A New Elle Woods

Last week on Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods, one more girl was waiting to be cut. The judges decided to let Rhiannon go. Tears, tears, tears...OK...for the last time White Girls Crying. This left Bailey and Autumn to fight it out for the top spot.

For the audition, they had to perform 3 songs on the actual stage with props and the cast. With only one day to reh
earse the girls get to work. The girls got a surprise visit from their parents before the audition. I would have preferred jewelry. Both girls did an amazing job on the first song. The second song had a lot of dancing. Autumn didn't hit all the moves and messed up a little on the words. The judges said that Bailey sounded a off. On the final song, Autumn and Bailey both did a great job. Check out the video of their final Elle Woods performance at MTV.com. Jerry Mitchell, the director, told them that Autumn was the better singer and Bailey is the better dancer.

Bailey was named the winner and will be starring on Broadway as Elle Woods. Her Broadway debut is Tomorrow, July 23, 2008 @ the Palace Theater. To get tickets you can go to: http://www.legallyblondethemusical.com.

Omarosa The Bitch Act Is Tired

Omarosa was a guest on the Wendy Williams Show yesterday. In usual Omarosa style she came out with an attitude. But you know it was Omarosa doing her "Bitch Act" for TV...that's what she does. Of course after this she just looks like a Bitch.

I was waiting for Wendy to kick her off the set. Wendy tried to get back to the interview but Omarosa wouldn't even let her hold the book cover to the camera. Yeah, she has a book coming out called "The Bitch Switch." She really should have used her switch. I usually love Omarosa's antics on TV...but this time it was pointless.

Sneak Peek: Gossip Girls

E! news gives us a sneak peek into the new season of Gossip Girls. The summer in the Hampton's is very interesting for the gang. Check out the clip to see who gets caught without their pants. The new season of Gossip Girls starts in September.

Shrinky Dinks: Hot Fun And A Possible Trip To The E.R.

Psych Flashback : Shrinky Dinks

During the new episode of Psych, they reminded us about the great toys our parents bought us when we were kids. It was amazing how dangerous toys were back in the 80s. Shrinky Dinks were one of the classics that threatened the welfare of kids all over the country. Just imagine; plastic paper that may or may not have been toxic being baked into a hard piece of plastic--perfect for crafting into a prison weapon. The most difficult thing about making Shrinky Dinks were parents keeping their children away from a hot oven.

Gotta love it. Enjoy!

Wendy Is The Queen Of All Media

The first week of the Wendy Williams Show was a success. The show opened #1 among women 18-34 and was #2 in the L.A. market. They just have to keep up the momentum.

During one of the shows, Wendy said hello to The Soup. Well...they welcomed her right back with jokes (see clip below). That's a good thing. If the show wasn't doing good, they wouldn't have responded.
Keep getting them to talk Wendy.

Fonzworth Bentley Talks "From G's to Gents"

I'm catching up on all my YouTube clips and wanted to post this one. Mike Street from the GreasyGuide.com recently did an interview with Fonzworth Bentley about the new show "From G's to Gents." You really have to hear his take on the show. After listening to what Fonzworth Bentley had to say it make you want to watch. I'm already a fan so it just made me want to give the G's a hug. My little misunderstood G's. The photo is from Fonzworth Bentley's book Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence, and Style to Get Ahead.

Catch a new episode of From G's to Gents tomorrow - Tuesday, July 22 @ 10 ET/PT on MTV.

The Kiss of Death

I Love Money episode 3, the teams were told to break up into teams of two before arriving at the challenge location. The green team plans for an eating contest but the challenge is kissing. The kiss off challenge was to recreate the longest kiss on TV between New York and Flavor Flav. Chance and Mr. Boston were teamed together. Chance refused to kiss Mr. Boston so the green team was disqualified. That put the Entertainer in the position of power.

After the challenge, Destiney and Chance got into a big argument when she was sticking up for Heat. The green team starts breaking down. The alliance of Chance, Real and Whiteboy is something the other green team members are not feeling. The green team couldn't decided who to send up for elimination and the gold team took all the power. The Entertainer wouldn't listen to his team to take out a strong player from the other team...he will probably regret his selection.
Mr. Boston was pretending to be sick and threw up during the outing. Megan shows up to elimination in a bikini. But it was Heat's relationship or non-relationship with Destiney that got him sent him.

Team Captains:
  • Gold Team - Entertainer
  • Green Team - Mr. Boston
Loving More Than Money:
  • Heat and Destiney
  • Entertainer waiting to move in on Destiney
  • Heather and 12-pack
  • Megan causing problems between Heather and 12-pack
Up For Elimination:
  • Megan
  • Heat
  • Mr. Boston
Eliminated:
  • Heat

Where's My Cheesecake?!

“I WANT TO WORK FOR DIDDY” is the new reality show coming to VH1. Hip-hop music mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs will test 13 finalists as they compete to land the job of a lifetime as his assistant. Finalists will go through the ultimate job interview as each of the applicants will be challenged emotionally, physically and mentally to earn the coveted position. At the end, one lucky (or unlucky person depending on how you look at it) will call Diddy their Boss.

I'm surprised this show isn't on MTV. Just think...this all started with a YouTube clip. Below is video that his old assistants made...a little incite of what it would be like working for Diddy. The
series premieres in August 4th on VH1. The casting special will air Monday, July 28 @ 9PM on VH1. Now go get me some cheesecake!!

Ana Ortiz on Wendy Williams

Ana Ortiz, who plays Hilda Suarez on Ugly Betty, stopped by the Wendy Williams Show this past Friday. She helped celebrate Wendy's birthday and talked about the new season of Ugly Betty.

Sneak Peek: I Love Money - Episode 3

Tomorrow on I Love Money, there is some kissing going on. The challenge is to recreate the extremely long kiss between New York and Flavor Flav. But will Chance and Mr. Boston lock lips to win the challenge? Whatever...LOL!!

You can't say the producers don't have a sense of humor. The new episode airs Sunday @ 9/8c on VH1.
