Project Runway - Rings Of Glory

The Project Runway designers have to create an outfit for the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The focus was on women's wear for the USA Team. Guest Judge this week was Apolo Ohno. Poor Blayne...his tan is fading. Maybe someone on the crew will sneak him some self tanner. He should just steal some bronzer from one of the models or out of the make-up room. Most of the designers missed the point of the challenge. I don't know what they were thinking. It's the Olympics...that's the theme.

The Top 3 were Korto, Terri and Joe. I really liked Terri's look and Joe nailed the athletic part. Korto was the winner of the challenge with a clean and modern white suit (
Design by Korto, Modeled by Katrina-photo from Bravo.com). She got immunity but I guess they weren't going to mass produce it for the Olympic team. I was hoping to see that happen.

The bottom 3 were Daniel, Jennifer and Jerell. Daniel's purple dress (She from the Republic of Cocktail Land) and Jerell's 20's costume was a little much for the judges to swallow. Ok...I told you Jennifer wasn't going to last much longer. She was sent home this week. Finally they put her out of her misery. The judges said it was too hard for her to separate her personal style from the challenge and it looked silly.

Next week Brooke Shields in dropping in on the designers. If you need a pose by pose recap check out David Dust Blog. You will thank me!

Dancing Thru The Finale

The final 4 (Joshua, Twitch, Katee and Courtney) took the So You Think You Can Dance stage last night for the final vote. This time all the dancers performed together as couples. For the first time Courtney & Katee and Twitch & Joshua danced together. Everyone performed a solo number but I would have thought those would have been a little longer...they did have 2 hours to burn.

I thought the guys Russian Nutcracker was really good (clip below). And Joshua can jump higher!! It looked amazing on TV...it was probably crazy in person. I think it's great that there are 2 hip-hop dancers in the finals. Even if I don't consider either of them as just hip-hop dancers anymore. During Katee's one-on-one, they showed the clip of her in the audition telling the judges she wouldn't come back. Look at her know...in the finals. I hope her friend goes back next year. Twitch did his best James Bond impression for Nigel. It was cute!

Kind words all around from the judges. But they are not the ones voting. Who did you vote for? I love them all but Joshua is my dance crush...but Twitch is really close. Tonight @ 8/7 c the winner will be announced!!

Justin Survived A Japanese Game Show

Last night was the season finale of I Survived A Japanese Game Show. Justin Wood, a Financial Representative from Alabama, is the winner and received $250,000.

The final 4 contestants ran through the streets of Tokyo and competed in more strange challenges to determine the winner. The top 3 had a loved one come watch them compete. The final 2, Justin and Donnell, received tickets for a return trip to Japan and a certificate from a Japanese official. After 2 very long hours of them trying to stretch the show the winner was named. The most interesting part was what the game show host and crew were saying...and YES you had to read the subtitles. They were very funny!!

You can watch the full episode on ABC.com.

Grand Champions!

The great tournament that is the revamped American Gladiators ended its second season. The winners were Ally Davidson and Tim Oliphant. Tim qualified for the finale with an eliminator time of 1:13, and with bruises and stitches, beat out choreographer Mike Gamble-- for some reason I remember his full name! Ally tried out for the show on her wedding day and stayed in the game after her husband was beat out in the semi-finals. I would not be down for physical competition as a honeymoon. She beat out Tiffany, who lost her head start on the cargo net.

They won a Toyota Sequoia and $100,000, but no mentions of becoming future gladiators. I think they have enough gladiators! No word of on site casting, but you can fill out the app and send in your audition video, check the official
site for more details.

Psych Flashback: That's Incredible!

Psych Flashback: That's Incredible!

On Psych, Shawn reminded me about a show we use to watch all the time. But when I looked at the clips on YouTube, I didn't remember it...but I had a great laugh looking at that set. Gotta love 80's shows. Check out the clip of the opening sequence to the 1980's show "That's Incredible!" starring John Davidson, Cathy Lee Crosby and Fran Tarkenton. Do you remember it?

New episode of Psych this Friday @ 10/9c on USA.

Sneak Peek: Project Runway - Episode 4

The designers take another field trip, this time they go to The Armory Track and Field Center. They meet Apolo Ohno, five time Olympic medalist and guest judge for this week. For one designer, there's too much drama because there's too many queens around!

Project Runway airs Wednesdays @ 9/8c on Bravo.

Diddy Should Hire Her!!

The contestant that we are looking forward to seeing on I Want To Work For Diddy is Laverne Cox. This transgender woman has our attention. She is fabulous!!

She is originally from Alabama but moved to New York. Laverne is trained in acting, dancing and singing. Triple threat people. She is a host for a cable show called “Out at the Center.” But she isn't stopping there...she is also credited as a producer for the docu-series “t” (beingt.com).
She is going to show the world she has what it takes to be a star. (Photo and bio info from LaverneCox.com)

The show with Diddy will make her a household name.
I just hope she hangs in there until the end!! I Want To Work For Diddy premieres Tonight - Monday, August 4th @ 9/8c PM on VH1.

The clip below is Britney Houston and her version of the Pussycat Dolls (featuring Laverne Cox as one of the dolls) remaking the video "When I Grow Up." Love it!!

Set Your TiVO - Luke’s Parental Advisory

Luke’s Parental Advisory

Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell has been known as the raunchiest man in Hip Hop, a musical mastermind and even activist for constitutional rights. But he is best known as the hype man for 2 Live Crew, the hip hop group and pioneer of the modern music video featuring scantily clad girls.

The show will follow his day-to-day activities as Luke juggles fatherhood with two teenage children, while running his adult business Luke Entertainment Group and planning a wedding with his lawyer fiancée Kristin.

Luke’s Parental Advisory starting tomorrow - August 4th @ 10:30 PM on VH1. Check out the sneak peek of the show below (more clips at VH1.com). Let us know what you think about the show.

Mr. Bentley Transforms G's On Wendy

Mr. Bentley tells Wendy Williams about his new show From G's To Gents. Wendy watches the show and her favorite "G" is our boy Cee. We will have to ask Cee about being Wendy's favorite. Charlamagne does man on the street and asks women what kind of men they want - G's or Gents?

Mr. Bentley gives makeovers to three G's and transforms them into Gentleman. The Gent looks had a little too much pink for my taste...a couple could have stayed G's.

From G's to Gents
airs Tuesdays @ 10 PM ET/PT on MTV.

Part 2 - Mr. Bentley has a From G's To Gents makeover/fashion show

I Love Money - Cry Me A River

Last week on I Love Money, the cross team alliances were brought to the surface. New alliances are formed across team lines. The crying game was themes after all the shows great crying scenes. Each team member has to produce one tear that rolls down past their nose. The Gold Team picks Hoopz to sit out the challenge. Lucky her!!

12 pack slaps Toastee to get her to cry.
Pumkin puts cayenne pepper in her eye to produce a tear. You know that was burning. The Gold Team wins the challenge because Real and Brandi C. couldn't cry. Back at the house, everyone is kissing up to Toastee...except Destiney. Destiney (photo from VH1.com) and the Entertainer plot to have a fake fight to make it looks like they are breaking up. Everyone is so drunk and wild they don't even notice them. So much for that plan. When it gets time for the vote, the host tells them he is staying in the volt with them and he will be the only person to touch the checks. All the previous fighting in the volt caused the change. I'm going to miss the fighting. Brandi C. volunteers to go in the box. Then the team votes for Destiney to be in the box. But in a twist, Real volunteers to go in the box.

For the power outing, Toastee and the bottom 3 go snorkeling. Real spots a shark in the water and he heads for the shore. Destiney tries to make a case that Real is the strongest player and should be sent home. Toastee picks Real for the one-on-one time. When they get back the Entertainer tried to talk Toastee into keeping Destiney. The Gold Team had a meeting and Toastee announced that she was thinking about sending Real home. That move doesn't help her spot with the alliance.

At elimination, Toastee sticks to her alliance with the Stallionaire's and keeps Real. At least the Entertainer got one more kiss before Destiney left. I think his family will like Destiney...as long as they don't move into the basement together.

Team Captains:
  • Gold Team - Toastee (Wins Crying Challenge - Score 6 to 4 tears)
  • Green Team - Real
New Alliances:
  • Real, Chance, Whiteboy, Hoopz, Pumkin, Toastee
  • Destiney, Entertainer, 12 pack, Heather
Loving More Than Money:
  • Entertainer and Destiney
  • Heather and 12-pack
Up For Elimination:
  • Brandi C.
  • Destiney
  • Real
Eliminated:
  • Destiney

Set Your TiVo - MTV Tr3s Fashionista

MTV Tr3s Fashionista, is an upcoming style special, set to premiere on August 16th @ 2PM EST. I would consider changing my cable plan just to see this show.

The show will feature hot performances and fashions from top designers.
R&B singer Lloyd performed his hit single "Girls Around The World" with rapper Pitbull. From the top pic you can see former America's Next Top Model contestants Jade Cole (cycle 6) to the left of Lloyd and the model on the far right looks like Mercedes Yvette Scelba-Shorte (ANTM cycle 2). I haven't seen Mercedes since that Chili's commercial...I love that commercial.

Danity Kane member Aubrey O’ Day took time out of her busy schedule to hit the catwalk. ANTM cycle 8 winner Jaslene Gonzalez (bottom pic) rocked the runway in a very tight dress. I hope Russell Simmons watches the show (Jaslene you need to upgrade). The show will also showcase performances from Nina Sky, Kinky and RKM & Ken Y. Sucker Free Latino’s L.Boogs and Natalie Martinez of Fashion House, served as hosts for the show.

MTV Tr3s Fashionista participating designers included (partial list):
Marc by Marc Jacobs, LRG, Puma, Clara Glez, Ricardo Seco, Triko, Mimi Turner, Santana by Carlos Santana - footwear, Republica - eyewear, Cosa Nostra, Christian Audigier, Paco Chicano, Splendid, H&M, Kenneth Cole, I.N.C, Steve Madden, Luxirie and Ella Moss.

My Interview To Be Diddy's Assistant

A few years ago, before the TV show, I applied to be Diddy's assistant. I had been in New York for a little over a 1 year at the time and was working at a PR firm. I saw the job posted online and thought it would be interesting. Apparently getting the interview was an accomplishment within itself. I told a couple of people about the interview. Everyone was telling me that he would buy me diamonds. Who would turn down diamonds? I just wanted a new job. I forgot the name of the person I met with but that woman was about to save my life.

The interview went like most do...standard questions: Tell me about yourself, what experience do you have and why did you apply for this job? But when I told her I was getting married in a month she gave me a different look. Not a bad or good look...just different. Then she started to tell me what was expected of me. Funny, when everyone was telling me about getting diamonds no one told me I was going to have to give up my first born. OK...not that much but damn near close. I was then hit with questions like: Are ready to spend 2 months on a yacht with Diddy? Carry his bags? If he calls you at 3 AM to do something you have to do it...Are you ready for that? I'm sure I looked like a deer in headlights. If I got the job, I would have been gone most of the time...Diddy's life would have been my life.

That wasn't the way I pictured my first year of marriage. That lady saved my life and marriage by not hiring me. Don't get me wrong...Diddy would have been luck to have me on his team.
I would've been DAM GOOD! It just wasn't the right time for me. But the diamonds would be nice right about now.

I Want To Work For Diddy premieres Monday, August 4th @ 9/8c PM on VH1. If you can't wait there is a sneak peek on VH1.com.

Fanny Outfreaked The Bots

The final four crews of America's Best Dance Crew opened last night with a pre-recorded performance with Missy lip-syncing to her song Shake Your Pom Pom. I like the collaborated dances they do on the show. It makes you feel that the dancers get along outside of crying as they send another crew home. SoReal started the night with a bang to One Minute Man. They had everything down, and their clothes were fly. Easily my favorite performance by SoReal in the past weeks. JC called them out on a lack of difficulty, but Shane-pulled a Lil Mama- and defended with their timing on their opening trick. Super Cr3w was able to breathe easily before performing We Run This, which had b-boy all over it. They did their thing, but my favorite part (not to take way from their more amazing moves) was the Jump-On-It-Carlton/Fresh Prince-throwback dance. Once again Super Cr3w made me want to hop on a plane and go see Battle Of The Year. On a real note, one of the guys lost his place in the routine in the beginning, but the judges didn't call them out on it. So what right? I'm more amazed they aren't sporting mad injuries from their moves. I know it had to feel good having Missy tell you that "ya'll made my video look wack [in comparison]."

The bottom 2 were Boogie Bots and Fanny Pak. After watching the recap package for
Boogie Bots (bottom photo from MTV.com), I felt for them. They were just mugged, stripped, and thrown under the bus on last week's show. I didn't plan on them staying this long either, so I can't pretend I'm humanitarian of the year. The routine to Work It was kind of a mess for this point in the game, especially compared to the other crews- which is the nature of being in the bottom 2. Last season Lil Mama made Yuri cry, and this time she got a whole crew feeling shitty. Fanny Pak (top photo from MTV.com) just obliterated the Bots when they performed Get Your Freak On. They amplified the hell out of that video and added some horror. It was on some next level shit that left me amazed. Funny enough, the opening lyrics include, "gimme some new shit."

Boogie Bots were sent home and respectfully bowed out.
Even though I wish they would have fought more but thats me being starved for Jerry Springer reruns. Fanny Pak, Super Cr3w, and SoReal are the last three dancing before the finals. Everyone has a leg up (sympathy-wise) in the competition. SoReal are lucky to be the last non-west coast team-- aka less split votes. Fanny Pak surpassed expectations and next week is the 80's challenge-- uh hello! Alas, Super Cr3w has the judges' blessing. Shane declared that if Super Cr3w are in the bottom again then he's going to resign as a judge. I think that was a risky thing to say. I mean the last three are good, and only one group can be safe. Is this the season destined for a West vs. West coast finale? The YouTube That Shit award goes to Fanny Pak. Best of luck to Boogie Bots. Also for those watching SYTYCD missed seeing Supreme Soul in Times Square last night doing some pre-episode spots with Dave Scott. Make that money fellas!

Down To Four!

Mark and Chelsea were sent home last night on So You Think You Can Dance. My predictions were wrong but I can live with that. I like all of them, so there was no Sanjaya upset. Lady Gaga performed and an adorable 6 year old breaker named Lil Demon (clip below) of the ACDC crew. They also announced that the winner will get a dance gig for a movie. They didn't give the title for said movie, but hey a job is a job. Who are you rooting for? Joshua, Courtney, Twitch, or Katee-- tune in next week to see who takes home the prize! I hope they make Twitch and Joshua do a hip-hop routine together. It could be epic.

Khia Wants To Be Your Lady

There is the official music video for Khia's new single "Be Your Lady." In the video, check out the way Khia is holding that knife. Watch out!!

The former Miss Rap Supreme contestant has been busy since her early dismissal from the reality show. Clips of her beefing with various radio station DJ's and female rappers are all over the internet. She also has a very entertaining video blog. Gotta love it!

You can pick up the new album "Nasti Muzik" in the Spoil The Ending Store. Let us know what you think about the new video.
