Behind-The-Scenes: Princess and the Frog

Below is a clip from the TV Guide's Hollywood 411. They were on the set of the movie "The Princess And The Frog." The stars (Anika Noni Rose, Terrance Howard and Oprah) talked about working on the movie.

Tiana is the first African American princess in the Disney franchise. Anika Noni Rose did a wonderful job as the princess. The character is hardworking, focused on her goals and loves her family. Of course, I would have loved for her to be a princess for the whole movie...but Cinderalla wasn't either. Tiana is sure to inspire not just little girls but big girls too.

Video: The Princess and the Frog - Almost There

Check out this cute clip from the new Disney movie The Princess and the Frog. It's of Princess Tiana singing "Almost There."

The Princess and the Frog hits theaters nation wide on December 11, 2009. If you are in New York or Los Angeles you can see it now in select theaters.

A Whole New World (Funny Clip)

My girl Stephanie (AKA Superstar) emailed me this clip from Saturday Night Live featuring Rosario Dawson. Shout out to all my Learning Annex peeps.

Clip from Hulu.com: After 10 years, it's a whole new world for Aladdin and Jasmine.

Teen Choice Best Dance Crew

I really tried to watch the 2008 Teen Choice Awards...really I did. But it was too boring for me. I did want to see the dance crews perform. Apparently, the ACDC Crew and the M&M Crew (AKA - Miley and Mandy), have been battling on YouTube.

The ACDC Crew had guests appearances from the Jabbawockeez and Chris Brown. While M&M rocked out with LL Cool J. Fergie announced the winner...the M&M Crew. Are you surprised?...probably not. No real surprises. That was my feeling throughout the show. But anytime I get to see the Jabbawockeez is good thing. Congrats to America's Best Dance Crew for winning Teen Choice TV Reality Dance Show.

Set Your TiVo - High School Musical: Get In The Picture

Disney's High School Musical: Get In The Picture - hosted by Nick Lachey. The series premiere is Sunday, July 20 @ 8/7 C on ABC.

The finalists will participate in a summer music program to hone their skills, and one talented newcomer will become a part of "High School Musical" history. The winner will literally "get in the picture" when that person stars in a music video shown in the end credits of Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," opening this fall. In addition, the winner will also receive an exclusive talent hold agreement with ABC and a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records, one of which will be a version of the song from the music video.

The Jonas Brothers Are Everywhere

Disney is giving the Jonas Brothers their own reality show! The title of the show will be “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream“.

And they will be staring in a new Disney movie - Camp Rock. The Disney Channel will show a sneak peek of the movie on April 6th at 1:40/12:40c.

All my niece talks about was Nick Jonas. I guess I'll be buying something else. Great!!!

"College Road Trip" Opens This Weekend

The trailer for the new movie College Road Trip starring Raven-Symone and Martin Lawrence. Opening in theaters tomorrow...March 7th.

Finally…A Black Disney Princess

Disney has released some of the art work for the 2009 release of “The Princess and the Frog”. The main character is Princess Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose from Dreamgirls). She will be the 9th official and the first black Disney Princess. About Time!!!

The animated film is based in New Orleans, LA. Disney describes the film as a: "From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment, and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells, and Cajun charm at every turn."

I hope Disney treats this movie the same way they do their other films. At least another job has opened up in the park for the black girls that work there. I wish this would have been out when I was working at Disney World.

Illegitimate kids are “On Top” this week

“The Game Plan” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson opened this weekend at #1. The box office took in around $23 million dollars. This is really a good look for The Rock and Disney. Looking back at some of the other movies that wrestlers have put out lately this one seems to be refreshing. I haven’t had the pleasure to watch it yet….but it’s a Disney movie…you know how it’s going to end. Maybe they will do “The Game Plan 2” where The Rock will get married and have a kid with his wife…Why bother illegitimate kids are much funnier.
