My Interview To Be Diddy's Assistant

A few years ago, before the TV show, I applied to be Diddy's assistant. I had been in New York for a little over a 1 year at the time and was working at a PR firm. I saw the job posted online and thought it would be interesting. Apparently getting the interview was an accomplishment within itself. I told a couple of people about the interview. Everyone was telling me that he would buy me diamonds. Who would turn down diamonds? I just wanted a new job. I forgot the name of the person I met with but that woman was about to save my life.

The interview went like most do...standard questions: Tell me about yourself, what experience do you have and why did you apply for this job? But when I told her I was getting married in a month she gave me a different look. Not a bad or good look...just different. Then she started to tell me what was expected of me. Funny, when everyone was telling me about getting diamonds no one told me I was going to have to give up my first born. OK...not that much but damn near close. I was then hit with questions like: Are ready to spend 2 months on a yacht with Diddy? Carry his bags? If he calls you at 3 AM to do something you have to do it...Are you ready for that? I'm sure I looked like a deer in headlights. If I got the job, I would have been gone most of the time...Diddy's life would have been my life.

That wasn't the way I pictured my first year of marriage. That lady saved my life and marriage by not hiring me. Don't get me wrong...Diddy would have been luck to have me on his team.
I would've been DAM GOOD! It just wasn't the right time for me. But the diamonds would be nice right about now.

I Want To Work For Diddy premieres Monday, August 4th @ 9/8c PM on VH1. If you can't wait there is a sneak peek on VH1.com.

Fanny Outfreaked The Bots

The final four crews of America's Best Dance Crew opened last night with a pre-recorded performance with Missy lip-syncing to her song Shake Your Pom Pom. I like the collaborated dances they do on the show. It makes you feel that the dancers get along outside of crying as they send another crew home. SoReal started the night with a bang to One Minute Man. They had everything down, and their clothes were fly. Easily my favorite performance by SoReal in the past weeks. JC called them out on a lack of difficulty, but Shane-pulled a Lil Mama- and defended with their timing on their opening trick. Super Cr3w was able to breathe easily before performing We Run This, which had b-boy all over it. They did their thing, but my favorite part (not to take way from their more amazing moves) was the Jump-On-It-Carlton/Fresh Prince-throwback dance. Once again Super Cr3w made me want to hop on a plane and go see Battle Of The Year. On a real note, one of the guys lost his place in the routine in the beginning, but the judges didn't call them out on it. So what right? I'm more amazed they aren't sporting mad injuries from their moves. I know it had to feel good having Missy tell you that "ya'll made my video look wack [in comparison]."

The bottom 2 were Boogie Bots and Fanny Pak. After watching the recap package for
Boogie Bots (bottom photo from MTV.com), I felt for them. They were just mugged, stripped, and thrown under the bus on last week's show. I didn't plan on them staying this long either, so I can't pretend I'm humanitarian of the year. The routine to Work It was kind of a mess for this point in the game, especially compared to the other crews- which is the nature of being in the bottom 2. Last season Lil Mama made Yuri cry, and this time she got a whole crew feeling shitty. Fanny Pak (top photo from MTV.com) just obliterated the Bots when they performed Get Your Freak On. They amplified the hell out of that video and added some horror. It was on some next level shit that left me amazed. Funny enough, the opening lyrics include, "gimme some new shit."

Boogie Bots were sent home and respectfully bowed out.
Even though I wish they would have fought more but thats me being starved for Jerry Springer reruns. Fanny Pak, Super Cr3w, and SoReal are the last three dancing before the finals. Everyone has a leg up (sympathy-wise) in the competition. SoReal are lucky to be the last non-west coast team-- aka less split votes. Fanny Pak surpassed expectations and next week is the 80's challenge-- uh hello! Alas, Super Cr3w has the judges' blessing. Shane declared that if Super Cr3w are in the bottom again then he's going to resign as a judge. I think that was a risky thing to say. I mean the last three are good, and only one group can be safe. Is this the season destined for a West vs. West coast finale? The YouTube That Shit award goes to Fanny Pak. Best of luck to Boogie Bots. Also for those watching SYTYCD missed seeing Supreme Soul in Times Square last night doing some pre-episode spots with Dave Scott. Make that money fellas!

Down To Four!

Mark and Chelsea were sent home last night on So You Think You Can Dance. My predictions were wrong but I can live with that. I like all of them, so there was no Sanjaya upset. Lady Gaga performed and an adorable 6 year old breaker named Lil Demon (clip below) of the ACDC crew. They also announced that the winner will get a dance gig for a movie. They didn't give the title for said movie, but hey a job is a job. Who are you rooting for? Joshua, Courtney, Twitch, or Katee-- tune in next week to see who takes home the prize! I hope they make Twitch and Joshua do a hip-hop routine together. It could be epic.

Project Runway - Bright Lights, Big City

Project Runway episode 3 rundown - Last week Suede won the challenge. The designers were told they were going to meet with Tim for a night on the town. Blayne called Tim - "Timlicious"...really. He is over the top. Robin Antin is going to get him. The designers head out in the rain to create a look for a night on the town inspired by New York City. Each team had a different location in the city and a hour to take photos.

Columbus Circle:
Suede, Daniel, Leanne & Jennifer
Time Square: Blayne, Keith, Stella & Kenley
New York Public Library:
Korto, Kelli & Joe
Greenwich Village:
Terri, Emily & Jerell

Stella has problems working the camera. That sponsor is going to be pissed. Keith isn't trying to make friends...and doesn't care what the rest of the team is doing on the street. Including walking in front of Stella's camera. She was already having enough problems. The designers have to pick one photo and get $100.00 to spend.

Once the designers got back to the workroom, Tim tells them that the winner will have immunity. Suede keeps referring to himself in the 3rd person. That just made me like him more. Stella's hammering gets on a few peoples nerves. She's the rock chick...she needed to put studs on her outfit. Blayne & Terri teach Tim to say "Holla at cha boy." Just wrong!! The day of the runway show, Keith's model had to dropout and was replaced. The guest judge was comedian/actor Sandra Bernhard. She wasn't referred to as a fashion icon but as a nightlife expert...ok I'll give them that. The top 3 designers were Kenley, Terri and Leanne. The bottom 3 designer were Keith, Emily and Jennifer. Michael said that Keith's dress looked like toilet paper caught in a wind storm. Nina said she had no comment for Emily's dress. Heidi said that Jennifer's dress was boring.

The winner of the challenge was Kenley (photo of winning dress-model
Shannone). I love her description of her design philosophy as being a "Modern Day Calender Girl." Kenley maybe my designer soul mate this season. Leanne's dress was my favorite of the night. Very cute!! The person going home this week was Emily. Check out the video recap at Bravotv.com.

Did You Vote For Joshua?

Another great show last night on So You Think You Can Dance. It's down to the top six and at this point popularity matters more than ever. Until next week of course. Mark and Courtney danced a foxtrot and jazz routine. Twitch and Chelsea danced a mambo (correct me if I'm wrong) and a hip hop routine. Alas Joshua and Katee were reunited for a contemporary and Pasa Doble.

The only thing for sure was that Joshua got the judges stamp of approval. They raved about how he is amazing for being an untrained dancer. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big Joshua fan, but those praises really stand out at this point in the competition. In comparison, they didn't really critique Katee on her dancing, but we all know it was fabulous. It would take a big fluke for her not to be in the finals, or win- but thats just my opinion. In the fun of making predictions, I would have to say that Twitch and Courtney would be sent home. Tune in tonight to see who makes the final four! You know I will.

Set Your TiVo - Big Daddy's House

The Food Network isn't wasting anytime rolling out their newest show. Aaron McCargo, Jr., the 2008 winner of the Next Food Network Star, is ready to take his place on the channel. I always liked the concept of Aaron's show. I still do. But when I watched Lisa's show for the final challenge, I actually liked it better.

Aaron's new show,
Big Daddy's House, airs Sunday, August 3rd @ 1:30pm/12:30c on the Food Network. The clip below is a behind the scenes interview on the set of his new show.

The Sisterhood Continues

Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel return for part 2 of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. All the main actors have success in TV...but a movie is always a good look.

When the first movie came out I was more familiar with Amber and Alexis. This time around America and Blake are the two that people are talking about. What a difference a few years make. I will probably wait until this movie hits ABC Family to watch it. It should be a cute film for teens.

Check out the trailer of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 below. The film opens August 6, 2008 in theaters.

Laurieann Gibson Returns to MTB

I was looking for the trailer for Making The Band 4 - season 3 because my favorite person is returning to the show...Laurieann Gibson!! YAY!! Love her!!

Not sure how many episodes she will be on. I'm just glad she is back. After the big fight with Diddy during Making The Band 4 - season 1, I wasn't sure if this would ever happen. Business is business...and Diddy is a businessman. He knows what makes good TV. Since MTB, Laurieann worked on a CD, did a clothing line - Boom Kack and toured with Pulse...doing what she's known for...DANCING!! Gotta love her hustle.

The new season of Making The Band 4 starts Wednesday, August 13th @ 9/8 c on MTV.

Brooke's House Party

Brooke had a house party in her new condo. Things got out of hand and security has to come up. But the interesting part was the fact that Brooke invited her ex-boyfriend...a rapper named Stack$ and a new guy she met at the beach. I'm stuck on the fact that she dated a rapper. How did Hulk let that happen? It didn't look like Stack$ and Brooke would ever have any chemistry. It's really convenient that they are on the same record label. Free promotion!! Well...his album is coming out in September and you can check out his website Stacksmusic.com. There are better pics of Stack$ on his website but this photo is from his MySpace...it looks a little K-Fed-ish.

Brooke towered over both dudes anyway. She made them look like midgets as she walked around in her clear high heels. Why isn't she dating some basketball player? I hope this show gets better...a little on the boring side for my reality show taste. I love Glenn...I wish the show was all about him. I'm sure people are watching to see if Brooke has sex on the show.

The clip below is when Stack$ arrives to Brooke's party and reality show drama begins. Ok...it wasn't that good. Do you think Brooke really dated him??

I Almost Want To Work For Diddy

Don't sleep and leave your Bitchassness at the door! Last night VH1 had a sneak peak/casting special of I Want To Work For Diddy, and I must say- I'm excited for it! They didn't give much of a preview of the show's contestants, rather several testimonies of the craziness of what it means to work for Diddy. I liked seeing all the flip-outs and stories of what past assistants had to say. Naturally they interviewed the ones who are successful after being abused by Diddy for years, but I wonder if any of his past assistants that aren't doing so well have anything to say? Among the contestants are a 30-something Harvard graduate and an African American transgendered woman. I'm already rooting for the hot tranny mess. Seriously, the only time I've seen a real transgendered person (meaning Ugly Betty does not count!) on basic cable, is a murder victim on CSI or Law & Order: SVU. So, it's kind of a big deal. Also, I'm a sucker for societies underdogs.

Watch the premier on
VH1 Aug. 4th! The casting special will also re-air tonight at 9pm EST.

Alliance Gone Wrong

On episode 4 of I Love Money...12 pack goes to members of the green team (Megan, Mr. Boston, Destiney and Brandi C.) to form an alliance to get rid of Whiteboy. The teams pick new captains for the next challenge. This week the challenge is themed after an episode from Flavor of Love 1. Remember when Hottie served Flavor Flav’s mom raw chicken? Each team had to assemble a catapult to throw raw chickens to their teammates. The teams are divided into builders and catchers. Megan and Mr. Boston are doing everything they could to slow down the green team and lose the challenge. Rodeo gets knocked in the head with a chicken. This is her second time getting wacked in the head at a challenge. The Gold Team ends up winning thanks to the sabotage.

Back at the house, Chance and Whiteboy decide to haze Mr. Boston. Boston tries playing sick until they leave...then gets in the shower with Brandi C. Of course, she was screaming when he got in the shower. Whiteboy talks to Megan and gets her to change her alliance as long as he doesn't vote her in the next time. Like that is deal is going to stick. When it was time for the team to vote the alliance falls apart. Boston was holding on to his check to try and force the vote...so the gold team would have to pick. Chance, Whiteboy and Real force Boston's check in the box. Then Boston flips out and leaves the room for a good cry. Not a good look!

At the outing, 12 pack tries to get down to the broken alliance. The gold team meets about the elimination. The team wasn't feeling the fact that he wanted to save Destiney. During elimination, Brandi C. calls out Boston and the other members of the alliance. Megan denies being in on the sabotage. Brandi C. and Boston get into an explicit argument. Well...it was a little entertaining. This week it was Mr. Boston time to going home.

Team Captains:

  • Gold Team – 12 pack (Wins Chicken-apult Challenge)
  • Green Team - Chance

Loving More Than Money:

  • Entertainer and Destiney

Up For Elimination:

  • Destiney
  • Brandi C.
  • Mr. Boston

Eliminated:

  • Mr. Boston

Food Network Slip Saves You An Hour

Thanks to one of our readers (next time leave your name so we can give you credit) you don't have to watch The Search for the Next Food Network Star tonight. The winner is Aaron McCargo Jr. from New Jersey. That is who I wanted to win anyway. Well, the Food Network made the slip 3 days before the fianle by posting the exit interviews, winning clip and a sneak peek to Aaron's new show Big Daddy's House (they could have done better with the name). Dmagazine.com posted an article on the major slip. I hope the intern didn't lose his/her job.

The clip below has the screen shots of what was posted on the Food Network site. After the show airs...I'm sure all the video will be back up.

"Bad Girls" - Danity Kane ft Missy Elliot

The ladies of Danity Kane have released their video for the song "Bad Girls" featuring rapper Missy Elliot. In the video the girls are showing off their bad sides (basically them in different color wigs). Look out for a cameo from Day 26 member "Q" (as Dawn's love interest).

I guess this will ease up on the rumors that Aubrey is leaving the group...or D. Woods leaving the group...but either way I figured this would be the last album for them as a group. I've seen a casting call for a new reality show that Diddy is doing to find a solo artist.
I was wondering how long it will be before Diddy started looking for more talent.

Making The Band 4 Season 3 premieres August 13th on MTV.
