The Bachelorette: Romance or Horror Story

The new season of The Bachelorette has started and it's like a bad sequel to a movie. The perky girl that got rejected on The Bachelor gets to date dreamy men while on exciting once in a lifetime dates. There was a time when these shows were all about the romance (well at least the fantasy suite). Now it seems like the show produces are more interested in making the bachelorette cry. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy crying and occasional pain inflicted on reality show contestants. Some how they have turned finding love into a bad horror movie. The last couple seasons they have been sending in a no good man to play the girl on national TV. Maybe they need to change the show title to "The Bachelorette: The Mole Edition." At least this way she will know up front she has to eliminate the mole and find love. Let's hope Ashley gets more romance then horror story this season.

I posted the sneak peek for the next episode below. I guess it's a lesson to all women that everything that glitters isn't gold. And if your on a reality show, the reality is you are always being manipulated. The Bachelorette airs Monday nights at 8/7c on ABC. Good Luck Ashley!

Bachelorette Ali Engaged

Well...another season of the Bachelorette has come to an end. Ali's final two men were Chris L. and Roberto. She surprised Chris by cutting him from the show before their last date. I liked Chris but it was taking too long for them to connect. In the end, Ali picked Roberto and he proposed. They make a cute couple. She liked him from the beginning so they appear to have some chemistry. Best of luck to the new couple...don't want to see a repeat of Jake and Vienna.

Sneak Peek: The Bachelorette (Someone Has A Girlfriend)

You would think the screening process on reality dating shows would get better. Poor Ali is going through the same thing the last Bachelorette had to deal with. One of her guys has a girlfriend back home. No surprise...ABC needed some drama to liven up the show.

Ali takes the remaining men to Turkey. Then she has to confront the cheating Bachelor Justin (the professional wrestler). Funny, he was the guy that the other men picked the first night to go home. He proved them right!!

The Bachelorette airs Monday, June 28th @ 8/7c on ABC.

The Bachelor's Pick & The New Bachelorette

Tonight was the finale of The Bachelor: On The Wings of Love. YES...I watched it. Jake was down to Vienna and Tenley. Both girls had the opportunity to meet Jake's family and have a final date. The family immediately fell in love with Tenley...TEAM TENLEY. This made Vienna's visit a little hard at first, but she won them over after telling them how much she loved Jake.

During the final date with Tenley, Jake said they didn't have physical chemistry. The writing was on the wall at that point. In the end Jake went with Vienna. Not the popular pick but he went with his heart. On the after the rose show, Jeffery Osbourne came out to sing the theme for the show..."On The Wings Of Love." I hope The Soup gets him to come on this Friday!! I'm waiting Joel!!

The announcement was made for the new Bachelorette. And the unlucky lady of love is...Ali from this season of The Bachelor. Her season will begin in May. I liked her on the show, but it would have been nice to get a girl that didn't lose on The Bachelor first. I get it...the audience has a connection to her. But aren't their other women that would like to be The Bachelorette?? Oh well...maybe next time. Ali, I hope you get some great clothes, amazing vacations and oh yeah...find love.

For the first time in Bachelor history there is going to be a wedding. Jason will marry his fiance Molly. I know your think what about the other couple that got married?? Well they were from The Bachelorette. I wonder if we should really count this one because he didn't pick her at first. Jason and Molly will say "I DO" for the world to see. Tune in next Monday (3/8/10) night @ 8PM ET on ABC for The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding.

Jillian Gives Out Her Final Rose

Tonight was the finale for The Bachelorette. Jillian turned down 2 proposals before saying yes to Ed.

If you missed the show, Jillian sent Kiptyn home first. Then Reid came back to tell her that he was in love with her and to propose. After she cried for a few minutes, she headed back and kicked him to the curb for the second time. Leaving Ed as the last standing Bachelor.

What's up with guys leaving the reality show then coming back to win? First it was Daisy picking London and now this. Well...I look forward to seeing Ed and Jillian on After The Final Rose tomorrow night on ABC and of course when they make their morning show rounds.

Set Your TiVo - The Bachelorette 5

Last season, Jillian Harris was rejected by the Bachelor. Now she gets a second chance at love by kissing her way through 30 men. You Go Girl!!!

I know...I need to give up on the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows. I always have the same complaint. This season isn't any different. Where are the men of color? ABC just isn't trying or maybe that's the way she wanted it. Maybe I overlooked someone. But from the pics on the site it doesn't look like much variety. Oh well...check out the sneak peek below with 2 of the guys break dancing for Jillian's attention. Where is that Apollo hook when you need it?

The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 18 @ 9/8c on ABC.

Are We Done With The Bachelor?

Last night completed The Bachelor saga. Yes...finally it's over!!

Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa on the finale. Then broke up with her on the After the Rose show. Breaking up on TV...that's just messed up. If I was Melissa, I would have kept the ring!! ABC would have seen that rock on Ebay or Craigslist.

On the same night he tells Molly he made a mistake and wants her instead. Ok...that really didn't bother me. Mostly because Molly was my pick anyway. TEAM MOLLY!!
So on part 2 of After the Rose, Jason and Molly come on to talk about how happy they are. They said they are taking the relationship slowly.

Of course reality
dating show relationships don't usually have a good run anyway. I did enjoy the sad attempt to show all the happy couples that came from The Bachelor/Bachelorette on one of the past shows. It was a short list. After this season they better really come up with something to get people to watch again.

Well the real winner in all of this was Jillian. The girl that steamed it up with Jason in the hot tub before he dumped her. She is the new Bachelorette. So 20 men will fight it out for attention. Hopefully she can hold our attention longer then DeAnna.

No Blacks Allowed On The Bachelor

Ok...I'm the first person to say black girls shouldn't waste their time going on certain reality dating shows because they won't win. It's true! The black girl (or the overly ethnic girls) usually gets the boot early on the show.

As I watched the new season of The Bachelor, I realized there were no women of color on the show. Maybe they came to their senses and stayed home during the casting call. I really doubt that...but it was a nice thought.
Was there a memo to the casting people that said no natural tans allowed? You know what I mean. Maybe the new Bachelor isn't into black women. Out of 13 season of the Bachelor and 4 seasons of the Bachelorette, there hasn't been a black person in the main spot looking for love on the show. They haven't even had a black person living in the house make it to the final 2. When do we get to have our Cinderella dream date?

Wake up ABC!!
We have a black President...but we are still waiting for a black Bachelor/Bachelorette. I refuse to believe the only black men worthy of dating on TV are Real, Chance, Ray J and Flavor Flav. I know there is a single black man or woman out there that would make a great candidate for the show. As a side note, when you do get a black person for the show...they don't have to be a professional athlete or ententainer. I want to see someone that is successful, professional and has a good heart. And no stripper poles in the house. Not that there's anything wrong with that...but leave that stuff over at VH1.

Another Bachelor...Yawn

It wasn't that long ago when DeAnna Pappas kicked Jason Mesnick to the curb on The Bachelortte. Things really worked out for him because he is the new bachelor and she is without a husband. He really dodged a bullet with that one. For the first time a single dad will move into the mansion. Just what his son needs...a bad example of how to date women. Are you interested in see the new season?

Check out the promo for the new season of The Bachelor premiering Monday, January 5 @ 8/7c on ABC.

Jesse Gets The Rose And DeAnna

After a weeding thru 25 guys, DeAnna picked the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Jesse got down on one knee and proposed to her. We figured it would be Jesse, so it wasn't much of a surprise when she dumped Jason. I think Jason made a good case for himself as the next Bachelor.

Both men asked DeAnna's father for her hand in marriage. Very sweet!
The big announcement was the wedding date for the new couple (May 2009). I guess ABC isn't footing the wedding bill because they gave them a honeymoon to Greece.

It was a really long Bachelorette night. 2 hours of meeting the family, final dates, stacker Jeremy returning and then another hour after the rose. It was a little much. That was the most I have watched of the entire season. Congrats to DeAnna and Jesse!!

Who Will She Choose?

DeAnna is down to her final 2 men. They travel to Georgia to meet her family. After her final dates with Jesse and Jason, it will be time for the last rose to be given away. At least on the Bachelorette you get a proposal. Who will she choose?

The 2-hour finale is Monday, July 7th @ 8/7 C on ABC.

DeAnna found out that she was going to be the next Bachelorette during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Watch the video below to see her reaction to the news.

We Have A Proposal!!

Finally...a proposal!! Just when I give up on The Bachelor. Matt Grant got down on one knee and asked Shayne to marry him. The 22 year old actress has found the man of her reality show dreams. I guess everyone will be counting down the days until they break up. I don't have a connection to the new couple because I didn't watch the show...but if there was a wedding I would consider watching. I see roses...lots and lots of roses!!

If you missed the big moment...like I did...check out the clip from the show below. Also you get to see the promo for the new season of The Bachelorette.
