Not Fat Enough??

Fresh off her win as the latest America's Next Top Model, Whitney Thompson (pictured with Tyra Banks, photo from the CW) stopped by Live With Regis And Kelly (see clip below). They asked about her size which is a 8-10. People are saying that is kinda slim for a plus-sized/full-figured model. Whitney even admits its a below average size. So I checked out Plusmodels.com to see the requirements for plus-sized modeling. They say a size 10, 12, 14, 16 are the most common but sizes 8 and 18/20 are also used. It's about being toned and proportionate. Whitney meets those requirements...so stop trying to say she needs to be bigger.

But that's not the only thing people are saying about this cycles winner. Last season there were rumors that Saleisha Stowers was a ringer and now the same rumors are out there about Whitney. I read on Gawker.com that Whitney had previous modeling experience as a regular size model and was recruited by a show staffer that asked her to gain weight to be on the show. I wouldn't be surprised...it is reality TV.

At this point, I just hope Whitney can book some jobs!! I want to see her in some big designer shows...because if she doesn't get booked for some good jobs then the fashion industry is no closer to letting real size women into the fold. Make It Happen Whitney!!
