Please Feed The Writers

The writers are still striking. We need the writers and they need to be compensated for their work. When the strike first started, I don’t think people realized the effect it would have. The news stations reported that it would be awhile before anything would happen. First the late night shows, then prime time TV shows with movies to be the last to have problems….WRONG. The late night shows are currently showing reruns and prime time shows are already stopping production…and the movies that were going to take awhile…they are already pushing back release dates. It’s hard to promote a new movie with NO shows to go on. Not to mention all the other people that will be laid off before the holiday that work on these shows, the people who traveled to see the shows and the neighboring business without foot traffic. All this from just a few weeks of striking.

If you’re wondering what the writer’s want…basically they want to be paid for the new technology that’s out there. Like when rappers started talking more about ring tones then their albums. They are writing more and their material is used in more places with no additional pay. They work hard and deserve a fair contract.
