ABDC Season 4 Premiere recap!

ABDC is back! About damn time, right! So let's cut the crap. So far Rhythm City and We Are Heroes are on top of this competition. Rhythm City is probably the strongest East coast crew to ever be on ABDC and has a really good chance to run away with the prize. We Are Heroes are an all-girl popping crew. I was scared for them the whole first half of their routine because it looked real cheerleader-ish, but I was beyond impressed after the back-bend part of the performance started. Massive Monkees is a champion b-boy crew from Seattle. Honestly, you know what to expect by now and it was good. Vogue Evolution is 4 gays and a tranny. They are easy to love, but my eyes weren't feeling them as much as my heart. They are really busy on stage which doesn't work well with moving/switching cameras. I felt like it was sloppy and they should have been more sycrnoized. Big boy wasn't getting the floor movement like the others. The tranny's "sha-bam" was different from the others. Just saying...

Artistry in Movement is another all girl crew but this crew has Donyelle-- a SYTYCD alum. I loved her in SYTYCD, and I've wondered about her whereabouts at times. However I didn't really care for her crew. I just felt like it was movement. I should probably watch the repeat because I didn't see what the judges saw. I was bored. Then very confused at why they sent Southern Movement to the battle. I really liked what Southern Movement did. They didn't bore me, even with the country line dance influence. The gun blazing tuttin' move was hot. I have nothing to remind me of Artistry in Movement except that Donyelle is in it. Nonetheless probably my least favorite crew was saved from battling and that is AfroBorike-- a latin dance crew. I don't think they can adapt to the challenges of the show, but we'll see.

Beat Ya Feat Kings are a footwork heavy crew from DC, but they were sloppy in parts. I liked them in the battle. I just don't think they won the battle, which was implied by the judges saving them first. I think Southern Movement won the battle, but the suspense was high as they waited with Fr3sh. In the end, Fr3sh doesn't get a chance to stand out from previous all-Asian crews like they sought. Too bad because I honestly liked them better than 3 of the crews that moved on to next week. Youtube that Shit award goes to Rhythm City and We Are Heroes. Rhythm City just simply had the best routine of the night, but We Are Heroes had the best moment of the night. It's good to have you back ABDC!
