ABDC Season 4, Ep 3 Martial Arts Challenge!

This week the crews of ABDC had a martial arts challenge, and the judges gave some negative critiques! I sound like a total hater, but let's be real-- last week was wack. Afroborike some how earned safety this week, but celebrated it with a lackluster Capoiera routine. We Are Heroes only slightly raised the bar with karate and some wacking towards the end. The girls had a slight Chun-Li moment by strobbing their kicks, which was hot to me. Vogue Evolution gave tiger-style kung-fu performance with very little kung-fu. I rewatched it to try and find the kung-fu. It was seriously 3 seconds of chaotic tugging-- like a not-so-tame episode of Ricki Lake. Everything else in the routine came off as a Zoolander throwback.

Massive Monkees were tasked with extreme martial arts, which kind of sounds made up or at least used as an excuse for Jean Claude Van Damme to do more cocaine. Unfortunately, the guys couldn't cover up that they all couldn't learn the 540 in time for the show, which was the move they focused on to be their challenge. To make it worse, there was a sycronized jump/flip--assumed to be easier than the 540-- in the routine that simply fell apart for them. It was just a bad week for them, but hey it didn't stop Super Cr3w. Beat Ya Feet Kings gave the their best performance on the show (excluding the battle) with Tae Kwon Do moves. However, Shane was sooooooooo right to call them out on using the predictable punching-ripple. Wait did We Are Heroes do that too? Uh oh... watch out ladies.

Rhythm City
and Southern Movement found themselves in the bottom two. Rhythm City came out in Kill Bill attire and killed it with Muay Thai. Remember Sagat from Street Fighter? They had some actual Muay Thai poses in that. The isolations in the middle were on fire! I loved it. Southern Movement didn't make it an easy choice. Their Kali infused routine required sticks, and they handled the prop really well. I bought their routine from start to finish. Although JC was correct in saying that those were the best routines of the night, I also thought Rhythm City was better. In fact, they get my Youtube That Shit award for the week. Good job Southern Movement, you simply went against the best. As for the bottom two for next week, I think it should be Afroborike and Vogue Evolution.
