Where's the Love?

Last night we closed another chapter (not the book) in the I Love New York drama. The reunion show was...OK. It was entertaining but left me for the most part unsatisfied as a fan. Realityrollcall.com has the blow by blow from the show.

If you don't feel like reading it...check out the video below to see the fights. Whoever said White Men Can't Jump...never meet Mr. Wise.

Time For Evening Gowns

Even with help from former Project Runway contestant, Nick Verreos, on which evening gowns look best...some people couldn't get it together. Just when the pageant contestants think they know how the elimination ceremony is going to go...The Tomboy Queens (Pamela & Felicia) are asked to pick up the scissors and de-sash themselves in episode 3. That's one way to keep them on their toes.

14 (guys & girls) wannabe models will compete for $100,000 and a modeling contract. I guess this show will have to do until the next cycle of America's Next Top Model. The good thing about this show is that the viewers decide who will win and we get to see Tyson giving the male models tips on modeling. The cast pictures are on Bravo.com.

Set Your TiVO - Dance War

Monday, Jan. 7
th at 8/7C on ABC – Hosted by Drew Lachey

You love them as judges on Dancing with the Stars...Now they have a new show. Bruno (NOT the older, gray haired one) and Carrie Ann (NOT the screaming lady from So You Think You Can Dance) will each create a team that can sing and dance. Not sure how good they will be at picking singers?? But we will see....

The views will vote for their favorite team each week. The captain of the losing team will have to put someone from their team up for elimination. At the end of the season, the winning team will go on tour as the opening act for a major artist...it better be someone good.

Less Is More!!

The 52 contestants had no idea what they would be in for on this show. I think some of them thought is was going to be a 4 week vacation and not a competition. Each week they will be ranked - Top 3 and Bottom 3. The end of the show the Top 3 will get a 10,000 scholarship and a new wardrobe. Don't forget the fan favorite will become one of the top 16 finalists at the pageant.

The show basically wants Miss America in be the next "IT GIRL". Well if they wanted an "IT GIRL" someone better put out a sex tape, go to rehab and get arrested...I guess that's not very queen like. Once they arrive at the house, Stacy London & Clinton Kelly from What Not To Wear, go through each girls luggage and tell them what they shouldn't wear. The next day they have a physical challenge to win rights to the 7 bathrooms in the house...I know someone was going to get half a shower (52 girls - 7 bathrooms). After the dinner/Q&A session, they let the girls know their ranking.

Top 3 - Week 1
  1. Miss South Carolina
  2. Miss Pennsylvania
  3. Miss Utah
Bottom 3 - Week 1
  1. Miss Vermont
  2. Miss Idaho
  3. Miss Oklahoma
They keep reminding the girls that LESS IS MORE!! But you can't wipe out years of pageant training in a day (maybe not in 4 weeks)...so you know people had big hair and lots of makeup. I'm curious to see what's the overall new look they are going for...but I'm waiting for the big over the top breakdown/blowup. Isn't that what reality TV is all about.

Want Some Lip Chap?

Saaphyri has created her own line of lip chap. 5 fabulous flavors of lip chap for everyone...Cookie Dough, Mojito, Wintergreen, Bubble Gum and Pina Colada. They retail for $7.00 USD on her website (http://saaphyri.com/). I'm going to try the Cookie Dough. You can also purchase Indian hair weave and clothing. It's good to see that she has started a real business.

I know you remember Saaphyri from Flavor of Love 2 and Charm School. She was the first girl asked to leave the Flavor of Love house without getting a nickname (because she got into a fight over a bed). Then she went back to VH1 on the show Charm School...where she won.

Set Your TiVO - American Gladiators

American Gladiators

Sunday, Jan. 6th at 9/8C on NBC - Hosted by Hulk Hogan & Laila Ali

The classic TV show has made it back to the airwaves. We all loved the old show and have high hopes for this one. I personally want to see some new games added and the old games should be more difficult. But other people want it to have the same games, same format with no changes.
Early reviews from the set haven't sounded to good. Well...I hope Hulk Hogan makes enough money to cover the lawsuit and the divorce.

Set Your TiVo - Matched In Manhattan

Matched in Manhattan

Premieres Tonight, Jan. 4th @ 9:30 ET/PT on Lifetime

Are you looking for love in the big city? Relationship expert, Matt Titus, is helping people find dates. If you miss the show tonight...you can watch it online.

Playmate Fired

Tiffany Fallon, Playboy Playmate, was the first celebrity to get fired by Trump. The celebrities were broken up into Men vs. Women. The first challenge was to sell hot dogs on a corner in New York City.

The women were headed by
Omarosa and the men picked Steven Baldwin as project manager. The women raised $17,038.79 and the men raised $52,286.00 in hot dogs sells (thanks to some $5-10,000 per hot dog). The combined earnings ($69,324.79) went to Steven's Charity - The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Omarosa brought Carol Alt and Tiffany Fallon to the boardroom. Tiffany was fired mainly because she didn't call Hugh Hefner and ask him to buy something. She was wanting to save him for later...well...maybe if they do a season 2.

Set Your TiVo - Miss America Reality Check

Miss America Reality Check

Premieres Tonight - Jan. 4th @ 10/9C on TLC - Hosted by Michael Urie (from Ugly Betty)

Another pageant reality show...what's going on?
I guess they wanted to get a jump on Trump's pageants. This show is making over all 52 contestants of the Miss America pageant...oh yeah...they are all living in one house. I guess all the people that make money on coaching these girls will have to revamp their businesses if this works.

Not sure what they are going to be doing...but it looks like they will have physical challenges, new looks and the viewer get to vote for their favorite girl (to be announced at the pageant). The fan favorite will get to compete as a finalist for Miss America.

Set Your TiVo - Cashmere Mafia

Cashmere Mafia

Premieres Sunday Jan. 6
th at 10/9C on ABC

Four successful women living in the city...sound familiar. If you miss Sex and the City, I doubt this show will replace it...but I'm looking forward to seeing Lucy Lui back on TV. At least ABC didn't create another doctor show.

Me Like Candy

Last nights challenge involved CANDY. The contestants got to use whatever they wanted from the Hershey's Candy Store in Time Square. I should have known something was up when they told all of Elisa story at one time. Can't let the footage go to waste. Apparently, she was is in a really bad accident 3 years ago...a car hit her full impact as a pedestrian. Her head was cracked open 3-4 inches, her neck broken and she was in a coma for 5 days.

Jillian had a hard time with her dress made of Twizzlers...but she had the only outfit that was eatable and it looked great. I loved the outfit that Chris made...it was really something you could wear. Rami won with his futurist candy dress and he will have immunity in the next challenge. The bottom 3 were Sweet P, Victorya and Elisa...but Elisa was the one that left this week.

Leave It In '07

Here's a clip from Mike Street over at one of my favorite websites the GreasyGuide.com. These are the things that we should leave behind going into the New Year.

Things That Should Be Left Behind in 2007

Let's Get Physical

The contestants had to show off their swimsuits and create a fitness routine in episode 2. The Realists formally known as "Silent But Deadly" (Annette & Alana) are eliminated from the pageant. A new episode of Crowned airs tonight on the CW.

Go On JA'DE

Former America's Next Top Model contestant JA'DE (Jade) is featured in Ne-Yo's video for "Go On Girl". You will see her tossing that hair around.

Jade was the girl we loved to hate on cycle 6. In case you can't remember what happened during cycle 6...Jade kissed a roach on the runway, Joanie & Danielle
had to get work done to their teeth and Danielle (now Dani) won.

No Crown For You

Here is a clip from the 1st episode of Crowned. The best part about the show isn't the challenges...it's the elimination. The first team to go was the Reigning A's (Andrea & Amanda).

Still Looking For Love

It's Official...Tila and Bobby have broken up. Like we didn't see that coming. Last night during the Tila Tequila's New Year's Eve Masquerade 2008, she made the not so shocking announcement. She said the he gave her the boot...yeah...OK. Apparently...her schedule is just to hectic for him. I'm sure Tila's check for next season is really good.

Bobby was a no show for the New Year festivities. Dani, Vanessa, Ashley and Domenico came thru to party with Tila in Time Square. Of course, Domenico was promoting his show.

Set Your TiVO - Celebrity Apprentice

Celebrity Apprentice

Thursday, Jan.3rd at 9/8C on NBC

The Apprentice
has some familiar faces this season. Some people have argued with me about whether or not they are celebrities. When you look at the list of people they secured for the show, you will know at least 3 or 4 of them...that's pretty good in the world of reality nobodies. They have the most famous Apprentice contestant,
Omarosa, in the cast. Other celebrities includes: Gene Simmons, Vincent Pastore, Stephen Baldwin and Lennox Lewis.

The celebrities are competing for charity...so you can at least feel good that the money will go to people that need it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2008!!!

Nothing like ringing in the New Year with Dick Clark...and of course Ryan Seacrest.
